As we approach the end of 2021, the team reflects on the whirlwind year that we have had and shares some of their personal highlights.
Zoë, Director
“The familiar feelings of excitement, adrenaline and a small dose of nervousness which all come part and parcel when running events have been welcome this last year. After a period of cancelled events and the unknown of when they might return, it has been wonderful to be involved in virtual, hybrid and full in-person events again! From making FXP Festival completely virtual this year to the exciting ACS What the World Needs event with Chris Packham zooming in to a live audience on campus to a busy exhibition opening at Extraordinary Objects – all have been exhilarating and a joy to organise and run. Fingers crossed this continues!”
Sophie, PR & Marketing Director
“There have been so many personal highlights for me in 2021 – from working with a number of clients who make the world a better and safer place to guiding our internal creativity to ensure that we continue to drive innovation and new ideas for our clients. This has manifested itself in regular whole team client brainstorms and the return of Creative Committee, where we celebrate the best campaigns from the world of public relations and marketing. It has been fantastic to see all of our creative ideas pitched to our clients, with the majority now live activity. I look forward to driving this forward in the New Year.”
Gemma, PR and Marketing Executive
“My first few weeks with Conscious Communications have really flown. Any worries about having to adapt to a new style of working at a different agency quickly vanished with a smooth transition and a very warm welcome from the rest of the team. I am happy to say that I have already secured coverage for clients in magazines and on the radio, which is an exciting start! I am really looking forward to getting to know the wonderful array of clients on the team’s roster and to seeing what next year holds working with such an inspiring group of motivated colleagues.”
Alan, Head of Design
“So many highlights… the tremendous satisfaction of launching our updated brand identity and the terrific experience of working with AudioTelligence to create the team’s software promotional videos was only surpassed by the recognition of the commitment and work by our team in winning The Drum’s Social Purpose award for Best In Community Engagement.”
Hanna, Senior PR and Marketing Executive:
“From organising next year’s FXP Festival to creating much-needed Christmas hampers for Cambridge City Foodbank, the Conscious Communications team has helped to support so many children, families and organisations across the county this year and I am proud to be a part of that effort. It is incredibly rewarding to be able to do a job I love and to support the local community at the same time!”
Joanna, Senior PR and Marketing Manager:
“We’ve had many media relations highlights this year, but one of the stand outs for me was securing interest from PA Media in a feature piece from ACS International School Cobham, discussing ways parents could support their young children’s development over the summer holidays (a big focus for many in 2021!). The newswire distribution resulted in hundreds of pieces of online and print coverage, notably an online piece on The Independent!”
Samantha, Junior PR and Marketing Executive:
“My highlight of the year has been seeing press releases that I have written feature in publications for the first time, whether that has been online or in print. One of the first releases that I drafted at Conscious Communications was for Cambridge City Foodbank; nothing quite beats the thrill of seeing words that you have written published and raising awareness for such a good cause.”
Blessing, Junior Content Designer
“My work highlight for 2021 was producing the motion graphics video for CC Insight, our very own measurement tool. This involved integrating our new branding and working on different graphics and animation styles which I had not used before. Through this project we were able to push the boundaries of how our services can be marketed to potential clients and customers.”
Alison, Managing Director:
During 2021 I have been most excited to see our team applying its media relations, content and social media expertise and energy to tech-for-good, including organisations operating in Med Tech and Safety Tech. I am blown away by what our clients in these sectors do – Safety Tech Innovation Network, Drone Pathfinder Catalyst, iKVA, Health Enterprise East, AudioTelligence, Nextbase – whether it’s keeping children safe on the internet, keeping drivers safe on the roads, or making data and information discoverable, and so very proud to be able to support them.
“Of course, winning the Best in Community Engagement Award at The Drum Social Purpose Awards in December, was a wonderful way to close 2021 and I’m now looking forward to everything that 2022 has in store.”
