On 24 September at King’s College in Cambridge, we were crowned the winner of Business of the Year – Small at this year’s Cambridge Independent Business Awards.
The win comes as we prepare to celebrate our 15th birthday next year. Since we were founded in 2012, we have grown organically, with no external investment, and have kept growing through a financial crisis, a pandemic and one of the most turbulent decades in recent memory.
Our results back up these claims:
- After strong post-pandemic growth across the UK’s top 150 agencies, growth across the sector has flattened, but our agency has grown steadily and consistently despite geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainty and rapid technological change
- 90% of our new business comes from referrals by existing clients or from our agency’s reputation for delivering results
- In our 2026 client satisfaction survey, clients scored us 9.4 for service quality and initiative and problem solving. One hundred percent said they would recommend our agency
- Recent client wins include global property investor, owner and developer, Prologis, alongside and Waresley Park Estate
Our CEO, Alison Taylor, said: “I am so proud of the team for being recognised with this accolade, and it means even more coming just before our 15th birthday. Conscious Communications was founded to prove that you don’t have to choose between doing well and doing good. Almost 15 years on, we have grown organically, have achieved B Corp certified status and we are an Investors in People Platinum employer. On top of that, we are still growing while much of our industry stands still. I think that is the clearest proof there is that putting values, purpose and people at the heart of a business isn’t a compromise.
“This award belongs to our brilliant team, whose expertise and care earn us the referrals that drive our growth. It also belongs to the clients who trust us with work that really matters, and to the Cambridge community we’re proud to be part of. We’re heading into our 15th year more ambitious than ever.”
