Alison Taylor, Chief Executive Officer:
My highlight for Q1 2024 has been seeing the work we’re delivering for a wonderful selection of new clients progressing and relationships flourishing; the teams are just loving working with British Antarctic Survey, Chelmsford Learning Partnership, Jigsaw Education, and Cambridge Open Studios.
Zoë Scorer, Managing Director:
B Corp Month ran throughout March, which was our first experience as a certified B Corp company to take part in the celebratory and awareness raising campaign, which runs annually. It was an excellent opportunity for us to reconnect with our fellow B Corp organisations in Cambridge – Costello Medical and Cambridge Commodities – to share what we have been focusing on, and what’s next. Importantly, we all agreed that becoming a B Corp is not about certification as the destination, but the journey to better business now and in the future.
Ali White, Associate Director & Head of Business Development:
There have been lots to choose from but one highlight of the New Year was returning to Bett Show, seeing clients old and new and eagerly immersing ourselves in discussions on the possibilities and pitfalls of AI in education. As the AI revolution progresses, it was heartening to see how much focus there is on supporting students, teachers, and researchers to explore the technology, and I’m excited to watch what happens next.
Sophie Baillie, Associate Director & Head of Client Services:
We kick-started the year with a group team session on creativity – delving into what the word “creative” means to us as an agency to develop our very own creativity charter. There is nothing I love more than when we come together as a team, brainstorm, and come up with absolutely brilliant (sometimes off the wall!) ideas. We are seeing some of the ideas being executed for our clients now. It’s brilliant to see our ideas come to fruition.
Tom Evans, PR & Marketing Manager:
So far, I couldn’t ask for more in 2024! One highlight for me has been using my two fully-paid charity days to support with the develop of a communications strategy for Cambridge Acorn Project – a charity that works with children and families who have experienced trauma and emotional distress. We have lots more exciting things planned with the charity and I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring!
Keir Taylor, PR & Marketing Assistant:
Picking a highlight is a difficult task, so much exciting stuff has happened already this year…but I’d have to say celebrating my first year at CC in February! I have learnt so much and worked with some amazing clients, it’s been really rewarding to see how far I’ve come and see my role grow on each client I work with. Can’t wait to see what the next quarter brings!
Hanna Garrett, PR & Marketing Manager:
With so many exciting things happening, it is hard to choose just one but working on a UK project to raise the profile of one of our education clients has been a highlight. From developing case studies to producing and directing a video with different school leaders, it has been so satisfying to showcase the positive impact of passionate educators.
Nick Stunt, PR & Marketing Manager:
The first months of the year have been full steam ahead! There are so many interesting avenues and topics that we are exploring for all of our clients from security to motorsport and even healthcare. I’m very excited to be telling these amazing stories in the coming months.
George Reader, PR & Marketing Assistant:
So far my stand-out moments from 2024 have been helping to deliver this year’s First Lego League Challenge tournament days in Cambridge, Bristol, and Peterborough! At this year’s Cambridge tournament, we invited BBC presenter, Greg Foot, to host the event; seeing his and the participating teams’ enthusiasm makes the day feel so worth it.
David Hartley, PR & Marketing Manager:
There’s been so much going on in the world of CC since the start of the year that I can’t believe it’s already Easter! A highlight for me so far has been the delivery of our IET Faraday Challenge Days to schools throughout the East of England – helping to engage Year 8 students through an exciting day of STEM workshops.
Gemma Cooper, Senior PR & Marketing Executive:
It’s been a busy first few months already, but it has been a pleasure to help launch one of our clients, and their inspiring work, in the US – marking a first-of-its-kind partnership with the renowned Carnegie Mellon University to bring LEGO brick based therapy to those children who will benefit from it the most.
Rick Newman, Senior PR & Marketing Executive:
I have enjoyed continuing to raise awareness of the incredible work that Cambridge City Foodbank is doing to combat food insecurity across the city. The support that the charity provides to those in need has never been more needed and I find it rewarding to know that the work that we do at CC is playing a small part in helping people through a difficult time.
Alan Beeson, Head of Design:
There was highly fulfilling feeling, which I’m sure was shared by all that were involved in the project, at the completion and launch of the Devonshire Design Competition for Railpen and Socius. The website launched a competition to identify an innovative architectural practice to design a public pavilion for the Devonshire Gardens development in Cambridge.
Abbie O’Connor, Multimedia Designer:
There have been lots of highlights in 2024 so far, but, if I had to pick one, I really enjoyed attending my first client brand workshop, from which I will be creating a logo and visual identity. Watch this space!
George Inwards, Junior Content Designer:
It’s been a busy and enjoyable start to the year with lots of exciting projects to work on! If I had to pick just one favourite, I’d say my highlight has been working with British Antarctic Survey on its new sustainability vlog series, ‘Polar Pulse’. I really enjoyed creating the branding design for this series. It’s been so interesting to hear about the work the team is doing and to be able to bring it all together in a set of videos.
Karen Roberts, HR Manager:
My highlight for the first quarter of 2024 has been gaining our Investors in People Platinum award. It is external recognition of the way in which our values are embedded right across the organisation and that we have a culture that empowers our people to do their best work. For me, it truly reflects what a great workplace we have.
